CNC Programmer – 5-Axis

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer with proven 5-axis
machining experience.

The ideal candidate must be capable of writing and modifying
G-code manually and using CAM software to develop accurate toolpaths for precision components.

This is a hands-on production role requiring accuracy, efficiency, and strong mechanical problem-solving skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Program and optimize 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines
• Write, edit, and troubleshoot G-code manually
• Develop and modify programs using CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar)
• Create accurate toolpaths for tight-tolerance components
• Optimize feeds, speeds, and machining strategies
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
• Support machine setup and first-article validation
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
• Maintain organized program documentation
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years CNC programming experience
• Proven hands-on 5-axis machining experience
• Ability to write and modify G-code independently
• Working knowledge of CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar)
• Strong understanding of machining tolerances and technical drawings
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Ability to work independently in a production environment

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience in optics or high-precision manufacturing
• Experience machining brittle or specialty materials
• Familiarity with CMM, interferometer, or profilometer
• Experience in ISO-regulated environments

CNC High Speed Optical Polisher Technician

Job Summary:

The CNC High Speed Optical Polisher Technician is responsible for precision polishing of optical lenses using CNC-controlled high-speed spherical polishing machines. The technician must have an in-depth understanding of the proprietary polishing process for improving the surfaces of soft crystal lenses and the ability to meet high-quality surface finish specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical work instructions.

- Set up and operate high-speed spherical polishing CNC machines.

- Utilize precision measurement tools, including height gauges and interferometers, to verify optical surface quality.

- Apply proprietary processes to enhance the surface quality of crystal lenses.

- Ensure final products meet Scratch/Dig Bryson optical quality standards.

- Assemble and mount lenses into optical systems per engineering requirements.

- Maintain production logs and quality inspection records to ensure compliance with specifications.

- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and minor troubleshooting of CNC polishing equipment.

- Work closely with engineering and quality assurance teams to refine polishing processes and improve surface quality.

- Follow all safety regulations and cleanroom protocols when handling precision optics.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in CNC optical polishing or a related precision optics manufacturing role.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering schematics.

- Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC spherical polishing machines.

- Expertise in using interferometers and height gauges to verify optical surface quality.

- Knowledge of proprietary surface finishing processes for optical lenses.

- Understanding of Scratch/Dig Bryson requirements for optical surface inspection.

- Experience assembling and mounting lenses into optical components.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight tolerances.

We are seeking an Entry-Level
Polisher
to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated
individual looking to build a long-term career in precision optics
manufacturing. We are looking for a reliable, long-term team member with
a stable work history (minimum of 5 years preferred) who is eager to
learn and grow with the company. The right candidate will receive hands-on
training in precision grinding and polishing techniques.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Set up machines (including both grinding and polishing) to start a production cycle    
  • Proficiency in grinding techniques
  • Work toward required specs such as power, irregularity, scratch/dig, wedge, etc.
  • Inspect parts with precision measuring tools
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues that may occur during the shift
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintain activity logs

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to learn and be trained in precision optics
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Demonstrated stable work history (minimum of 5 years
    preferred)

Property Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:
American Photonics is seeking a Property Maintenance Technician to perform Perform general repairs, maintenance, and upkeep for residential and commercial properties, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs, inspect properties and respond
to maintenance requests, paint and patch walls, repair flooring, install,
troubleshoot, and repair appliances and fixtures, maintain outdoor areas,
perform preventative maintenance, ensure compliance with safety regulations and
building codes, coordinate with contractors and vendors for major repairs, and
keep records of maintenance tasks and repairs completed.

Qualifications & Requirements: Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 24 months of experience in general property maintenance, handyman work, or related field.
  • Experience in residential or commercial property maintenance preferred.
