Job Summary:
The CNC High Speed Optical Polisher Technician is responsible for precision polishing of optical lenses using CNC-controlled high-speed spherical polishing machines. The technician must have an in-depth understanding of the proprietary polishing process for improving the surfaces of soft crystal lenses and the ability to meet high-quality surface finish specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical work instructions.
- Set up and operate high-speed spherical polishing CNC machines.
- Utilize precision measurement tools, including height gauges and interferometers, to verify optical surface quality.
- Apply proprietary processes to enhance the surface quality of crystal lenses.
- Ensure final products meet Scratch/Dig Bryson optical quality standards.
- Assemble and mount lenses into optical systems per engineering requirements.
- Maintain production logs and quality inspection records to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and minor troubleshooting of CNC polishing equipment.
- Work closely with engineering and quality assurance teams to refine polishing processes and improve surface quality.
- Follow all safety regulations and cleanroom protocols when handling precision optics.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in CNC optical polishing or a related precision optics manufacturing role.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering schematics.
- Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC spherical polishing machines.
- Expertise in using interferometers and height gauges to verify optical surface quality.
- Knowledge of proprietary surface finishing processes for optical lenses.

The Crystal Optics Finalizing/Cleaning Specialist – Level II is a highly skilled position responsible for inspecting, repairing, cleaning, and preparing optical components for coating and final
shipment. This position requires a high degree of independence, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities to ensure optics meet Scratch/Dig Bryson standards and engineering
specifications. This specialist plays a critical role in quality control by identifying, troubleshooting, and correcting surface defects while ensuring proper handling, cleaning, and packaging of
optics. The Level II Specialist also mentors junior employees and supports process
improvements in finalizing and cleaning operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to verify optical
specifications.
- Independently inspect optical components for surface defects using advanced inspection
tools, including magnifiers and interferometers.
- Analyze and repair complex surface defects according to Scratch/Dig Bryson standards
with minimal supervision.
- Ensure optics meet surface quality requirements before coating by performing advanced
cleaning techniques.
- Identify root causes of surface contamination or defects and implement corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on rental properties, including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work. Inspect properties for issues and respond to maintenance requests from tenants and management. Paint, patch walls, and repair flooring as needed.
