APC's fabrication department utilizes the best measurement devices to insure the highest accuracy and precision at all times.

  • Interferometer with radiums slide (Zygo) - Measures power, radius, and irregularity
  • Spherometer (Optipro) - Measures radius on generated blanks
  • Autocollimator (Nikion) - Measures wedge on windows
  • Test Plates - Measures power, radius and irregularity on spindle polishing
  • MU checker measures centering and runout
  • Drop indicators - Measures thickness

APC's' coating lab incorporates the latest equipment to measure transmission and reflection from the visible to the far infrared wavelengths. A custom built vacuum laser calorimeter is used to measure absorption in CO2 lenses and mirrors. The coatings chambers and all inspection equipment are housed in a class 10,000 clean room, thus insuring optics meet the highest quality standards and perform up to customers' expectations.

APC utilizes Macloud design software to develop and maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of infrared coatings. Many applications are unique, and APC has the personnel and ability to customize optical coatings to meet current market requirements
